今日はタイヤの日だそうです。
Today is apparently Tire Day.
私は車を持っていませんので、あまりタイヤに関しての話はありません。
I don’t have a car, so I don’t have much to say about tires.
タイヤの話ではないですが、以前に自転車を乗って隣町に行った事があります。
This isn’t about tires, but I once rode a bike to a neighboring town.
あまり土地勘もなくて、そのあたりに何があるのか知りませんでした。
I didn’t know the area well,
お昼近くになってお腹がすいたのですが、周りに何もありません。
and when I got hungry around noon, there were no shops around.
遠くを見ると、タイ料理のお店があります。
I saw a Thai restaurant in the distance.
私はそこで食事をしようと思い、かなり遠くのビルなのですが、そこを目指して自転車を漕ぎました。
I decided to eat there, even though it was quite far away. I pedaled my bike towards it.
私はタイ料理の何を食べようと考えながら自転車を漕ぎました。
パッタイを食べようか、グリーンカレーを食べようか。考えました。
As I rode, I pondered what to eat – Pad Thai or Green Curry.
必死に漕ぎました。
I pedaled desperately.
着きました。
I finally arrived.
到着して、建物を見たらタイヤランドでした。
When I looked at the building, it turned out to be Tire Land not Thailand.
完全に落ちが分かっていますよね。
The punchline is pretty obvious, isn’t it?
ちなみに、前のバイト先の目の前にタイヤランドがあって、バイト先にタイ人がいたので、
By the way, there was a Tire Land company in front of my previous workplace, and since there was a Thai person working there,
その人にこの話をしたら、くすりともしてくれませんでした。
I told her this story, but she didn’t even crack a smile.
