For today’s blog post, I’ll be sharing a blog entry I wrote a few years ago.
私の携帯には一切アプリは入っていません。正直、私は少し前にスマフォに変えたばかりです。日本の携帯料金は相当に高いと感じていましたので、私が海外から日本に一時帰国をした時に使っていたプリペイド携帯をずっと使っていました。
My mobile phone doesn’t have any apps installed. To be honest, I recently switched to a smartphone. I found the mobile phone charges in Japan to be quite expensive, so I continued using the prepaid mobile phone I had used while temporarily returning to Japan from overseas.
ただ、スマフォを買ったらラインくらいはインストールしようとも思っていたのですが、それすらもしていません。何か面倒になってしまって全くの手つかずです。あまり鳴らない携帯なので構わないです。
However, even though I had planned to at least install LINE on my smartphone, I haven’t done that either. I somehow find it troublesome and haven’t touched it at all. Since my phone doesn’t ring often, it doesn’t bother me much.
私はタイにいた時にはそれなりに携帯を使っていたと思います。仕事でも必要でしたので、色々なアプリも入れていましたし、携帯でオフィスを見る事もパソコンのメールをチェックする事もありました。
I believe I used my mobile phone quite a bit when I was in Thailand. It was necessary for work, so I had various apps installed, and I used my phone to check emails as well.
私はIT系の会社で働いていましたので、IT系の社員は本当に病気のようにメールをチェックします。そうでないと返答に間に合わない場合もあるからなんですね。常に会議中でもメールをチェックして、会議中でも普通に返信メールを打っています。
Since I worked in an IT company, IT employees are practically obsessed with checking emails. Otherwise, they might not be able to respond in time. They would check their emails even during meetings and reply to them as if it were normal.
IT系の会社の人にメールを送って10分以内に返信が無い事はないと思います。話を戻します。タイにいた時に会社の先輩から無理やりにラインをインストールされました。私はその当時はラインなど全く知らずに、その後に流行りだす事も知りませんでしたので
I don’t think there was ever a case where an email sent to someone in an IT company went unanswered for more than 10 minutes. Let’s get back on track. When I was in Thailand, my senior colleague forcibly installed LINE on my phone. At that time, I had no idea about LINE and didn’t even know it would become popular later on.
何か気分が悪くてすぐにアンインストールをしてしまったのですが、今思えばインストールしっぱなしで良かったかもしれませんね。そして、タイで使っていたスマフォはSIMフリーでしたので、他の国でもその国でSIMさえ購入すれば使う事が出来ました。
Feeling uncomfortable, I immediately uninstalled it. Looking back now, I realize it might have been better to leave it installed. The smartphone I used in Thailand was SIM-free, so as long as I purchased a local SIM card, I could use it in other countries as well.
日本でも最近はSIMフリーになってきているようですね。私がアフリカにいた時もプリペイドのSIMを購入して、タイで使っていた携帯を使っていました。そして、本当に最近になってアフリカで携帯で撮った動画をパソコンに起こす事が出来ました。
It seems that SIM-free phones are becoming more common in Japan as well. When I was in Africa, I purchased a prepaid SIM card and used the mobile phone I had used in Thailand. Recently, I was finally able to transfer videos taken on my phone in Africa to my computer.
以前までは、専用のソフトウェアがうまくパソコンにインストール出来ずに、パソコンに入れる事が出来なかったのですが、先日やっと出来ましたので、その動画の一つを下に紹介したいと思います。
Previously, I had trouble installing the dedicated software on my computer, which prevented me from transferring videos. However, I finally succeeded the other day, so I would like to share one of those videos below.
