今日もかなり前に群馬に住んでいたときに書いたブログです。私は現在までに３つの海外に住んでいますが、またどこかに出られたらいいなと思っています。別に長期滞在ではありません。本当に短期で良いので、少しだけ他の国の空気を味わいたいと思っています。
Here is a blog post I wrote a long time ago when I was living in Gunma prefecture. I have lived in three different countries so far, and I hope to go somewhere else again. It doesn’t have to be a long-term stay; I just want to experience the atmosphere of another country for a short time.
ちなみに、私は海外に旅行に行った時にも旅行者が行くような場所に行く事はあまりありません。地元の人が使うようなレストランや交通機関を殆どが使っています。ですので、海外に行った時にも私の周りには殆ど日本人を見る事はないです。
By the way, when I travel abroad, I don’t often go to touristy places. I mostly use local restaurants and transportation that the locals use. So, when I travel to other countries, I rarely see Japanese people around me.
タイに住んでいた時にも地元の人たちが住んでいるアパートに住み、地元の人しか使わない交通機関やレストランを使っていました。旅行で他の国に行った時にも、たいていは私の周りには地元の人しかいません。
When I lived in Thailand, I lived in an apartment where local people lived and used transportation and restaurants that only locals used. Even when I travel to other countries, I usually find myself surrounded by local people.
そして、最近考える事があるのですが、このような行動を取っている私は国際感覚が養えているのか全く養えていないのか？という疑問です。もしかしたら、一般的に国際感覚といわれている感覚は多くの国の人が集まる所で仕事をしたり食事をしたりという感覚で、その国の地元の人しか集まらない場所にいるのは、その地元での感覚を養う事があっても国際感覚が養われる事はないのではないかと少し疑問に考えてしまいました。まあ、そんなくだらない事は良いです。
Lately, I’ve been thinking about whether my actions of immersing myself in local communities prevent me from developing an international perspective. I have a slight doubt that even though I can understand the local culture, I may not be nurturing an international mindset by staying in places where only locals gather. Well, it’s just a trivial matter.
ちなみに、今一番行きたい国は以前に行ったアフリカのセイシェルのそばにあるいくつかの島国などに行ってみたいです。セイシェルは綺麗な国ですが、一回行ったので満足です。その近くのアフリカの国などに行ってみたいです。
By the way, the country I most want to visit now is some island nations near Seychelles in Africa, where I visited before. Seychelles is a beautiful country, but since I’ve been there once, I’m satisfied. I would like to explore nearby African countries.
私が現在までに住んできた国を簡単に紹介します。まずはオーストラリアに2年半住んでいました。次に日本の東京に戻って9ヶ月間、次にタイに一年半で、その後に２～３週間アフリカの友達の家に滞在し、そして現在という感じです。流れでいうと以下のような感じです。
Let me briefly introduce the countries where I have lived so far. First, I lived in Australia for two and a half years. Then, I returned to Tokyo, Japan, for nine months, followed by one and a half years in Thailand. After that, I stayed at my African friend’s house for about two to three weeks, and now I am in Gunma prefecture. In summary:
オーストラリア（2年半） ⇒ 東京（9ヶ月） ⇒ タイ（1年半） ⇒ アフリカ（3週間） ⇒ 現在の群馬
Australia (2 and a half years) → Tokyo (9 months) → Thailand (1 and a half years) → Africa (3 weeks) → current location in Gunma
オーストラリアではゴールドコースト、日本では東京、タイではバンコクに住んでおり、アフリカのセイシェルは世界一綺麗な国と言われている場所に滞在しておりましたので、ここ数年はそれなりに開けた場所に住んでいたと思います。ただ、私的には静かな場所には静かな場所の良さがありますので、そういう場所も嫌いではありません。
I lived on the Gold Coast in Australia, Tokyo in Japan, Bangkok in Thailand, and I stayed in Seychelles, which is said to be the most beautiful country in the world. So, I have been living in relatively open and developed places in recent years. However, I also appreciate the tranquility of quieter places, so I don’t dislike them either.

次はタイでの写真です。私が住んでいたコンドミニアムとウィークエンドマーケット前の道路です。
Then, we have pictures from Thailand. One is of the condominium I lived in, and the other is the road in front of the weekend market.
次にアフリカです。最高に綺麗な国で、どこに行っても綺麗なビーチと綺麗な自然を見る事が出来ます。
Moving on, we have pictures from Africa. It is an incredibly beautiful country, and you can find beautiful beaches and stunning nature everywhere you go.
最後に群馬県です。
