以前、営業をやっていたときに
When I was working in sales before,
先輩が別の担当地域に移動することになり
my senior was transferred to a different area,
私が先輩の地域を引き継ぐことになった
and I took over his territory.
後日、その先輩にあったときに
Later, when I met that senior,
「お客さんみんなが、先輩のこと気にしてます」と言ってみた
I said, “All the customers are concerned about you.”
先輩は「お客さんとの人間関係を築いたからね」と前向きだった
He positively responded, “I built relationships with the customers.”
なので私は「お客さんが先輩は今何しているのか？聞いてきたので
So, I said, “The customers asked me what you are doing now,
先輩は会社をやめて俳優を目指しているって言っておきました」と言ってみた
so I told them that you quit the company to become an actor.”
先輩は焦っていたので
He looked flustered,
続けて「申し訳ないですが、これから会社を辞めて俳優を目指してください」
so I continued, “I’m sorry, but from now on, you need to quit the company and pursue an acting career.”
と言ってみた。
怒られた。
I got scolded.
