息子がちょっとアタフタします | My son gets a little flustered.

息子が小学校１年生くらいの時の話です。私が息子に会った時に、時々息子が私のマネをしてくる事がありました。子供にありがちなのかもしれませんが、私が「これうまい」と言うと、息子も真似て「これうまい」と言ってきます。
This is a story from when my son was in the first grade of elementary school. Sometimes when I met him, he would imitate me. It may be common for children to do so. For example, when I say “this is delicious,” my son would also say “this is delicious.”
３回くらい私の真似をしてきた後に、私が「コッケ（私のこと）大好き」って言ってみます。すると、ちょっとアタフタした後に「コッケ大好きじゃない」って言ってきます。
After he imitated me three times, I tried saying “I love Cokke (referring to myself).” Then, he panicked a bit and said, “I don’t love Cokke.”
お前真似するんだろっていうと、マネをする事を完全に忘れて、また少しアタフタした後に「この場合は良いんだよ」って訳の分からない言い訳をしてきます。
When I told him that he was imitating me, he completely forgot to imitate and came up with a nonsensical excuse, saying “it’s okay in this case,” after panicking a little.
そんな息子を見るのが最高に可愛いです。
Watching my son like that is the cutest thing ever.
