私は旅行に行く時に事前に多少は用意をする事もあるのですが、際に行って予定が変わるという事が頻繁にあります。ですので、海外であっても殆ど予定を立てません。
I do some preparation before traveling, but I often change my plans after arriving at my destination. Therefore, even when traveling overseas, I rarely make plans in advance.
まず、カンボジアに行った時にも、私はシュムリアップにいたのですが、夕方に突然にプノンペンに行ってみようと思って、ホテルも取っていないし、土地感も何もないのにバスに乗ってプノンペンに向かった事があります。ついたら、完全に夜で、そこからホテルを探しました。
For example, when I went to Cambodia and was staying in Siem Reap, I suddenly decided to go to Phnom Penh in the evening without a hotel reservation and any knowledge of the area. I took a bus and arrived at night, then had to search for a hotel.

また、ラオスに行った時にも、突然どこかに行ってみたいと思い出し、どこに行くのかも分からない地元民だけが乗るバスに乗り込んでみたら、本当に地元民ばかりで、ゴミ袋いっぱいの野菜を持った人が乗っていたり、かなりギュウギュウな感じのバスでした。
Similarly, when I visited Laos, I wanted to go somewhere else and decided to take a local bus without knowing where it was going. The bus was very crowded with only locals and some were carrying very big bags of vegetables.

ちなみに、ラオスやカンボジアに行った時も突然に行こうと思い出して、全くホテルなども取らずにサンダルで行くような事もよくありました。よく思いつきで行動します。
When I travel, I often act impulsively and sometimes even go without a hotel reservation or wearing only sandals. This was also the case when I traveled to Europe. For instance, in Serbia, I took a train at night and crossed over to Hungary. In Hungary, I rode a tram without any knowledge of where it was going or how to ride it.

突然思いついてタイからカンボジアへ向かうバスです
A bus that suddenly came to mind to travel from Thailand to Cambodia.
また、ヨーロッパに行った時にも同じような感じでした。セルビアでは夜中の電車で突然にハンガリーに渡ってみたり、ハンガリーでも全く乗り方もどこに行くかも分からないトラム（路上電車）に乗ってみたりという事がありました。
It was a similar thing when I went to Europe. In Serbia, I suddenly crossed over to Hungary on a train in the middle of the night, and in Hungary, I rode a tram (streetcar) without knowing how to ride it or where to go.

私は海外に行った時にはなるべく地元民が使うホテル、地元民が使うレストラン、地元民が使う交通手段を使っています。以前までは、海外に行って高い金を払って良い物を食べるのって、それって現地を味わってないじゃん。日本でも同じ事できるじゃんって嘯いていました。ただの貧乏だっただけだよ～～！
When I travel abroad, I try to use hotels, restaurants, and transportation that are commonly used by locals. I used to think that going overseas and paying a lot of money to eat fancy food wasn’t really experiencing the local culture. I used to boast, “I can do the same thing in Japan!” But I guess I was just broke at the time.
ちなみに、ラオスやカンボジアの言葉はタイ語に似ています。特にラオスの方が似ているように思いました。今は完全に忘れていますが、当時は少しだけタイ語も話せました。ですので、もしどこか知らない所に行っても何とかなるだろうと鷹をくくっていました。実際に大丈夫でしたよ！
By the way, the languages in Laos and Cambodia are similar to Thai. I felt that Laos, in particular, was more similar. I have completely forgotten now, but at that time, I could speak a little Thai. So, even if I went somewhere unfamiliar, I was confident that I would manage somehow. And it actually turned out fine!
