くだらない話
私がマレーシアで働いていた時に、何人かで食事に行った。
When I was working in Malaysia, I went out to eat with a few colleagues.
その時に同僚の男性と女性が前職について話をしていたのが下のような感じだった
During the meal, a conversation between a male and female colleague about their previous jobs went something like this:
女性「前職は何してたの？」
Female: “What did you do in your previous job?”
男性「前職は、ネットショップで働いてたよ。完全にブラックだったけど」
Male: “I used to work at an online shop. It was completely black company.”
女性「ブラックなんてことあるの？」
Female: “Black company? How so?”
男性「完全にブラックだったよ。段ボール詰めとか超大変だった」
Male: “It was a total black company. Packing cardboard boxes was incredibly tough.”
女性「段ボール詰め？？それは大変そうだね」
Female: “Packing cardboard boxes? That sounds rough.”
男性「うん。詰めるのも結構大変で、ギュウギュウに詰めたりすると怒られるからね」
Male: “Yeah, it was. And if you packed too tightly, you’d get scolded.”
女性「それは絶対に駄目でしょ」
Female: “That’s definitely not okay.”
男性「繁忙期なんて、ひどかった」
Male: “Especially during peak seasons, it was unbearable.”
女性「繁忙期？ってあんの？いつ？」
Female: “Peak seasons? Are those a thing?”
ここで、女性がネットショップをペットショップと聞き違いしていたことに気がついて照れてました。
At this point, the female colleague realized she had misheard “online shop” as “pet shop” and felt embarrassed.
私は目の前で会話を聞いていたので、リアルアンジャッシュ見たいと思った。
I was listening to this conversation unfold right in front of me and couldn’t help but think it sounded like conteof Anjashu.
また、これは学生時代の話ですが、あるお調子者が洋服の襟を立てていて
On another note, back in my student days, there was a bit of a happy person who wore his collar up,
みんなでそれについて指摘しようという話になった。
prompting some discussion among us.
その彼以外でじゃんけんをして負けた人が指摘しようということになり、私が負けた。
We decided that whoever lost in a game of rock-paper-scissors would be the one to confront him about it, and I happened to be the loser.
他のみんなが私に、「言え！言え！」とコールをしだした。
As everyone chanted, “Say it! Say it!” encouraging me,
そうしたら、そのお調子者が、「言え！言え！」とコールに参加しだした。
the happy person joined in, chanting along.
これはアカンと思った
That’s when I realized things were getting out of hand.
