私が栃木で家を探していた時の話です。
This happened when I was looking for a house in Tochigi.
私が不動産屋に問い合わせして６階建てのマンションで最上階を見させてもらうように頼んだ。
I asked the real estate agent to show me the top floor of a six-story apartment.
ただ、そのマンションの様子が少しおかしいんです。
However, there was something strange about that apartment.
突然、不動産屋が「６階と５階に誰も住んでいなのですが、大丈夫ですか？」と聞いてきました。
Suddenly, the real estate agent asked me, ‘No one lives on the 6th and 5th floors, is that okay?’
こいつは何を言っているんだと思った！！
I thought, ‘What is this guy talking about!!’
そこで、なぜ、住んでいないか不動産屋に聞いてみた。
So I asked the real estate agent why no one was living there.
ただ、その不動産屋も最近オーナーが変わったばかりで、
But even the real estate agent had recently changed owners
最近管理を始めたばかりだから分からないという事。
and had just started managing the place, so he didn’t know.
事故物件じゃないのか？と聞いたんだけど
I asked if it was an accident property,
もし、事故物件であったら、きっと耳に入ってくるし、事故物件サイトなどを見ても乗っていない。
but he said if it were, it would have been known and would have been listed on accident property websites.
そのような事も耳にしないので、私も不思議に思うと言っていました。
Since he hadn’t heard anything like that, he found it strange too.
そこで改めて、訳あり物件ではないので良いですか？と聞かれたが
Then I asked him again if it wasn’t a problematic property,
「逆に、訳しかないだろ」ってツッコミそうになった！！
and I almost retorted, ‘If it’s not, then what is it?’
４階以下の階には殆どの部屋に人が住んでいるようで、６階と５階には誰も住んでいないようなんです。
Most rooms on the 4th floor or below seemed to be occupied, but no one seemed to be living on the 6th or 5th floor.
郵便ポストを見ても４階以下は人の名前が書いてるのですが、５・６階には誰の名前もない。
While the mailboxes on the lower floors had names written on them, there were no names on the 5th or 6th floor.
とても不思議に思いました。雨漏りでも酷かったのかな？って前向きに思おうともしましたが、
It was very strange. I tried to think positively, maybe there were severe leaks or something,
理由が分からないままお断りした。
but without knowing the reason, I declined.
